An Umm for a Month

The last month? Life-changing.

Surreal how it’s been a month of taaruf (getting to know one another) with Little Hadif who has grown so much and occupied every corner of my heart.

Like any other relationship, ours my son, does not escape its highs and lows.

Every time I feel overwhelmed – in pain, tired, confused and blaming myself for the inept handling of the baby… @tengkuhafidz would remind me that this mother-son relationship is not a sprint but a marathon – pacing out at every lesson and experience gained is so important.

We are still getting to know each other right, Hadif? 💗

And during such trying times, when tears would just stream down uncontrollably, my go to surah would be Surah Maryam. The 1st page would remind me to be grateful for Allah’s gift while Nabi Zakaria a.s prayed for one, for so long. On the other hand, page 2 would remind me to be thankful for a supportive husband while Saiyidatina Maryam r.a gave birth alone and raised a child by herself.

Allahu…So which of the favours of your Lord would you deny? 😢

Thus I’m eternally indebted to every single soul who has sent their prayers our way, sent gifts and even visited. You made the 4th trimester bearable and at times, memorable💝🥺
