Rejab

My first day back at CREA yesterday after 1 week of rest. Feels good to be back. Alhamdulillah. I couldn’t come to work last week for fear of spreading the flu and I didn’t have my voice to call people up :’)

The coming of Rejab and Syabaan reminds us that the much awaited month is very, very near. For the ladies, this means that it’s about time to fulfill our missed fasting days. If we’ve finished, alhamdulillah! If not, let’s take this opportunity as a stepping stone, a good practice before our Ramadhan marathon! 🙂

On that note, my “no music” fast dah ke laut~ huhu…Balance ok self. Here’s one that’s on repeat (+ the one on my sidebar. Macam kenal eh lagu tu? @maryam)

Remembering his journey never fails to lift you up ❤ Sollu alaih.

I decided to stay at home and get my life together (when overwhelmed, do the simple tasks first to get the momentum) instead of going for the investing talk by my school’s Muslim society today. So yeah, got to spend the day with Ummi and nenek at home and ended the day with wonderful news. 1 more!Bittaufiq selaluu @tbh.

Ayat of The Day:

Racial discrimination is so real. Someone (HR practitioner) even advised to remove our picture on our resumes if we don the hijab. It makes me a tiny bit frustrated that it IS happening.

Allah knows that it is only human to prefer our own people. Social psychology explains that humans feel safe with what is familiar, humans naturally want to feel belong and to be part of a group. Which results in social categorisation – us vs them mindset. This Quranic verse suddenly speaks to me and I feel so strongly about it now than ever. No wonder. No wonder it is upon us to build good relations with others beyond our microscopic tight circle. It is to stop things like discrimination.
