Not Everyone Will Love You Like They Do

So I’m sitting in the fishtank (students refer to the study lounge at School of Social Sciences as it is, mainly due to how students resemble fishes who are trying to swim through assignments and that the glass panels mirrors a fishtank!) after collecting primary data at Plaza Sing’s Cold Storage. We asked strangers about their eating habits and preference of fish for our project. May this attempt at getting better insights sit well with our storyline!

As I take a breather after walking from Plaza Sing to school (lol the angmoh had to endure the heat. Sorry ya), I received such a wonderful gift. Hazirah gave me her homemade mashed potatoes! MashaAllah sedap sangat. She inspires me so much than I can ever express. May only good things come your way! Aameen. ❤

We managed to catch up a little and she always (muffins generally) advises me what I need to hear above what I want to.

Reminded me of the recent incident where I bought a notebook out of /need/. I was introduced to this everlast notebook which spells “investment of a lifetime”  from a fellow ukht. I am a paper and pen person and I find it frustrating to have notebooks dedicated for different things and I always end up not using up all pages. How many of us would refer back such notebooks? It will stay on our shelves, collecting dust.

So with this purchase, I thought that I would use less paper for note-taking, shopping and to-do lists and mind maps. So if I want to keep the notes, I would use the rocketbook app and have it sent to my linked cloud storage! Neat right? (say yes! haha) However, if I wish to not keep it, I can just wipe it off.

Check out the notebook here!

Anyway, my family and friends are right. I have other things to save up for and this is not urgent. huhu. Also because I still find it easier to just type my notes on a laptop where it can be emailed and shared as and when. (My classmate gave me a “there..there” look when she saw the notebook on my table but I was busy typing away the notes anyway….zzz. The main frustration I have with this notebook is the fact that it works like a scanner and does not translate to a word document format. So like, I can just write on any paper and use apps like CamScanner to send to myself!

Rest assured, as long as I use it well, know that I am saving valuable trees and have the tiniest bit of support from the loved ones, I’m quite happy with this purchase! 🙂 Alhamdulillah.

6/10 haha

May we also stay thankful for the people around us, who advises us out of love, out of our well-being and not sugarcoat it to reflect our heart’s desires.

With that, have a wonderful Thursday everyone!

      1. Yepp! I have lotsa fully filled notebooks.

Id say I use it more to scribble thoughts than as an organised note-keeping tool most of the times, cos ya too tough to organise many things in one notebook. (Unless like u said ade byk notebooks for diff things – of which pernah try but lagi susah nak make sure bawak the right/needed one everywhere. Hurhur)

So limitation of using a notebook is clear. But for now, tech still cant replace it for mee. Pen and paper still much more intuitive than any other tools available now~

      2. MashaAllah interesting. Glad I asked. Had a stereotype that tech ppl would prefer tech stuff. ><
But these points resonates so much!
        – "to scribble thoughts"
        – "Susah nak make sure bawak the right/needed one everywhere." (Yeay to cloud technology!)
