This post was scheduled to be posted on 2nd June. But with things that are happening, I was quite occupied. (Alhamdulillah nonetheless!)

Today’s post is about a 9 year old muslimah who has memorised the entire Quran! MashaAllah. So leading up to the award ceremony, I really wanted to talk to the woman behind this mashaAllah lil one – her mother.

So my friends and I gathered and approached Cik A because we were so moved, so inspired by this miraculous child.

These are the points she shared (which are paraphrased).

1) Lead a simple life.
Lil one did not have social media and had very little TV time. It’s not about restraining. It’s about prioritising. She also emphasized on quality of the activities over quantity.

I second this as I observe young children facing fatigue as their parents send them to numerous classes simultaneously, piano, tuition, martial arts. I’m not saying it’s bad, but we need to prioritise and maintain quality.

2) Give priority to the Quran.
…and the rest in life will fall into place (e.g studies, health) Cik shared how lil one has been doing well in her class and how her health has been good Alhamdulillah.

I personally have met friends who has Quran as their companion,  performs better than others in their studies.

3) Life is a continuous struggle.
Kita perlu susah(mujahadah), untuk dapat barakah later.

Life without strive and effort won’t be as meaningful. For Allah looks at our efforts.

4) Always have a schedule for the day.
It acts as an aim for that day. It allows us to stay focused.  Even if you fail to follow, keep trying. Know that as long as we’re alive, we still have time to improve inshaAllah.

5) Environment is important.
If one does not have a family that emphasizes on the Quran, then find friends. Find companions who will go through this journey with you. This helps in maintaining motivation during the hifz journey. (The ones in the picture are my source of motivation. May Allah preserve them.)

6) Rest well.
For the lil one, her mother allows her to have a nap after school while her peers had to catch up with HW etc.

Rest is inevitable. We would not want to feel tired even before the race has ended. Maintain the energy throughout this journey is key! 🌹

7) Doa.
Seek help from Allah to keep us firm upon the deen, upon the journey. Also, don’t forget to make doa for others.

My friends and I realised that there was no secret to success. As a lovely book title aptly puts it: “Life is an Open Secret”. The secret to this wonderful achievement is ultimately to put in the effort and put yourself within an environment that encourages it. ❤

4th June 2018

Today, lovely Ustazah Mariam shared with us several reminders which hit home. Sometimes, our intentions can be noble. But going further, looking deeper, we fail to realise the ultimate goal. The reason of creation.

I shall end today’s sharing with her advice to us:

-Belajar al-Quran adalah PROSES sepanjang hayat.
-Carilah Allah yang sudah sedia dekat dengan makhlukNya pada setiap proses yang kita lalui.
-Jangan bataskan (niat untuk dekati al-Quran) kepada kelancaran & kemerduan bacaan sahaja.
-Jangan bataskan hanya kerana ingin:
meruqyah dari gangguan makhluk halus,
pahala,
ketenangan
atau syurga sahaja..
-Penyakit, ujian, pahala, nikmat &syurga etc hanya lah makhluq.
-FOKUS kpd yg empunya segala nikmat, pemberian & ujian.
Kita mencari Allah! Dia berinteraksi dengan kita melalui al-Quran, kalamNya..
-Maka dampinglah Al-Quran sebanyak mana yang kita ingin Allah bersama kita = Taqwa.
-Jangan tunggu bila tiada jalan keluar baru terkapai-kapai cari Allah.
-Carilah Allah sekarang! Dia tak akan biarkan kita susah. Andai kita susah, Dia tidak pernah biarkan kita tanpa jalan keluar
-Pesan untuk saya dan semua: bertaqwa lah…
