11.15am: Ibu was seen shutting her eyes tightly while her hands tried to continue cutting the holland yellow onions. It stung so bad that she had to take her glasses to protect her eyes.
How do people do this?
…to cut onions?
It might be my first time cutting onions or it has been so long that the sting and tears surprised me. I cried for TBH to come and rescue me by putting on for me my glasses. After all the cutting chaos, I went to every corner of the house and complained how EVERYTHING reeked of onion smell. TBH then pointed out that it was actually me that smell like onion…
…wait, what? >< :’)
Today was such a huge milestone for me that I felt the urge to update diaribu.
For you Hadif, Ibu is willing to cut onions and smell like one too. (+ the grocery shopping for, cutting, stir frying, blending and boiling of ingredients. It sure was exhausting!)
Of course, I couldn’t have done it without The Better Half who sacrificed his afternoon nap during his lunch hour to help me cook lunch. While tools like the Baby Food Blender and ice cube container made mission to make Mirepoix a success! The inertia to start cooking was certainly lifted with the presence of the tools. Thank you Jannah and Maisu!
Mirepoix – as a flavour base would certainly help me make healthier meals for Hadif inshaAllah!
