Sometimes I feel like leaving my basket full of groceries when the baby starts to squirm, at times crying his lungs out – wanting to be let out from his baby carrier which seemed to chain him to me. If I could understand baby babble, Hadif would probably have cried out “I want to be freeeeeee~”

Alas, I did invested my time and energy to choose what to buy within 10 minutes and already imagined what I would do with the groceries. So 5 more minutes of waiting would not hurt…right? Right baby?
*Cue to sigh with a heart drumming wildly trying and praying that the baby would just bear a few more minutes of his Ibu trying to buy some necessities*
Necessities. By my definition, all that I bought were necessary – before anyone refutes this word.
I was on my way home after settling some administrative matters at the mosque. With a baby at the front, a sling bag on my left shoulder and report books on my right, I left a message to The Better Half that I will just go home straight. The plan was to drop by Innisfree and get my hands on their anti aging product range as I feel old and thought of switching from the green tea bundle. Any thoughts on the Pomegranate range? Is it good?
As I was walking towards the bus stop, 2 things happened which made me changed my mind about going home straight.
- The bus to the MRT arrived
- The baby fell asleep
By this time, I think my husband is well versed of my fickle mindedness or my sudden change of plans. I am really thankful that he allows me the freedom to make choices – random ones too. Although I complain a lot about giving reasons and substantiate my claims, I honestly appreciate the thought process.
This post, is a shoutout, to the heroes of Marsiling MRT NTUC.
I’ve lost count on the number of times the friendly staff there would reach out to me as they saw me carrying Hadif with the groceries.
Hadif would always squirm and babble whenever I went shopping. As if saying, “Ibu you said you’re buying A and B but this is A, B, C, D, E and F!”
Today, I was lining up and one of them called me to come over at the self checkout station (which has no queue) – she wanted to help me scan and pack the items.
I was paiseh to have skipped the many people in line but super grateful for the opportunity and obliged.
Thank you for always being thoughtful and for going the extra mile ![]()
