Ok bukan Most Valuable Person ya, tapi Muslim Volunteer Project.

So initially, it was supposed to be a no work weekend for the self due to Vesak Day on Sunday.

But, because I handle Teens year 2 which focuses on hablu minannaas, we have 4 community projects throughout the year – 1 in each term. So we partnered up with the mosque’s Social Development dept and was granted the opportunity to join their initiative – to give out hari raya goodies to their zakat recipients around Bedok.

It wasn’t my first time volunteering for such activity as I used to help out with mks’s sometime back. But, it was my first experience leading students. Chaotic? Low key unsettling. Disorganised? Yes.

I admit that much can be improved on our part. Moving forward, briefing to the teachers would make it a lot easier for operations wise! Because we had to observe students and mark them according to several guidelines. Hence, when 5 of my students had to go with #teamlorry, I really wonder how was I supposed to rate them huhu. Overall, I’m just glad we went through it together. During the debrief, most students mentioned that it was their first time and they enjoyed helping the zakat beneficiaries, interacting with them and observed the living conditions in a rental flat area. Well of course the 5 boys really enjoyed their trip on the lorry :’) Tu jeee yang dia nak ceritakan.

May we always be grateful and are always willing to give back, no matter how small.

Balik macam zombie jalan around Bedok Mall buy some stuff before heading home. Then naik salah bus, turun salah stop, jalan balik rumah. When you don’t find time to exercise, exercise will come and find youuuuu haha.
