Alhamdulillah, I will be starting my role as a student assistant next week. Basically to collect data for the Centre for Research on the Economics Of Ageing (CREA). Be it online, on the phone or face to face. I hope this will motivate me to come school and be productive inshaAllah.
After the short briefing, I went to a psych study with an incentive of $6 per participant. hehe.
Summed up the day with SMU Muslim Society’s AGM. So proud of muffins for doing 2 terms! May Allah accept and guide you guys always!
I also did an experiment (haha not scientific at all) to prove my point that we can survive life with 1 special shirt. I’ve been going to school with my non-iron God-sent blouse to the point that it’s been labeled as my uniform haha. So today, when I decided to wear my sister’s blouse, I was amazed that people noticed the change and actually gave positive feedback. LOL. Moral of the story, simple things become extraordinary when you seldom use it. Ordinary actions, occasions become remarkable when you preserve it for the right time and place (generally speaking across many other areas in life).
Dress to impress HIM rather than them. Because when we try to feed off people’s compliments, we will see ourselves yearning to keep buying clothes just so that one wouldn’t seem to repeat one’s wardrobe (sad consumerism culture here. and it’s happening huhu).
Ok sorry, just my random thoughts for the day.
Ahhhhhh.
I’m really nervous BUT excited to meet my Primary 1s on Saturday (tomorrow!!), Sec 2s on Sunday and P1-P3s during TPA.
Doakaaan 🙂
Last but not least, THE HAPPIEST NEWS TODAY has got to be my naqibah’s delivery! Khola can’t wait to meet you baby boy. Alhamdulillah ya rabb. May both mother and child be safe and healthy! ❤
Ayat of The Day
الَّذِي أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ ۖ وَبَدَأَ خَلْقَ الْإِنسَانِ مِن طِينٍ
Who perfected everything which He created and began the creation of man from clay. –
32:7
I like how this verse balances itself. The first part envelopes you with gratitude for Allah has made us perfect in our own ways. Then the second part ensures that we stay humble for at the end of the day, we are still made of clay.
Wow. my thoughts are everywhere today. sorry. rest well everyone.
