Day 8 of Short Term Immersion Programme

I apologise for going against the supposed 1 day 1 post promise. Some days require more energy than others thus I probably would have been too drained  to even switch on my laptop. Plus I had my own blog updates platform on telegram :’) (sorry to have spammed you)

And I’m finally in Jakarta, the land of macet. It feels different to be here with friends. I remember the last trip here with the fam. Makes me miss people at home so much now 😦

So the agenda after 1 week of experience in a startup is to explore the indonesian culture more. So we had an amazing race today! This was one of the things I did not look forward to as I’d rather just stay in the hotel. But it turned out fine. I became the translator and talked to the locals during the missions assigned. It felt wonderful to interact with good people. Alhamdulillah.

We’ll be visiting 4 other companies this week. So stay tuned to my instagram updates. haha kidding! Speaking of which, I have happily blocked toxic people that are currently on the same trip as me on my instagram. Finally eh. Nothing is as sweet as liberation from the shackles of judgmental people~

Anyway this post isn’t about them. This post is to remind me that help is always near. I might “lose” people in life. But alhamdulillah, I met new ones! The Jakarta team (those who were assigned to startups in Jakarta) were a bunch of friendly nice people! I felt like a muhaajir as they shared how it’s like around here. These /Ansar/ people shared the best places to makan, do laundry etc helping us to adapt faster. There’s even a mosque near our hotel!

The 2nd blessing today is how Allah reminded me to utilise my social media better. I got tired of sharing lah honestly. I blocked toxic people on instagram but then Ar-Rahman sent this indonesian acquaintance, via my instastory, who wanted to bring us around inshaAllah. Sharing updates on instagram isn’t all bad. You never know who might be moved to help you.

So excited to visit Shopee, Airfrov, Go-Jek and Tokopedia. Till then, fii amanillah 🙂
