So much for social media detox. I managed to abstain for 5 days I think…Until this new Instagram update happened where we get to choose our “close friends” and only this set of people are able to see our insta stories. Kak Syaf and I agreed this update is awesome. Obviously algorithm suggested tbh as one of my close friends but I shall not add you, yet, cos sis paiseh. Having an all ladies audience made me excited and I spammed them with self videos all day yesterday. Sorrynotsorry! ><
Speaking of all ladies, today is the first class of Alqudwah’s Book Club, an all ladies session with Ustazah Shameem. This session cannot be anymore timelier as one felt a teeny bit sad just yesterday.
Here are my main takeaways from today’s session:

- Anxiety = A feeling for something that is yet to happen
- Grief = A feeling for something that is happening
- Anxiety hinders so many things like living in the moment
- One of the ways to remove anxiety and grief is to do self-talk
- Essentially, a Let Go and Let God attitude
Reminded me of today’s khutbah about the importance of muhasabah. Speaking of which, I really love how Masjid Kampung Siglap dedicates a section for muslimah to join in the congregation. Used to go for Friday prayers every week back when I was in Irsyad. Anyway, how do people not doze off eh during khutbah? Tips please huhu.
- Another tip is to smile!
- It is charity/sadaqah
- Helps one to be more productive as they feel more positive.
- Laughter is also good but not too much.
- In relation to the picture above, one should see problems as opportunities to be good solvers.
- Like math, once you know the equation/technique, you can solve the problem with ease!
- The woman with 1 hand:
Ustazah narrated to us a living example of a woman with only 1 hand. On top of cooking by herself (Ustazah tried to cut onions with one hand but cannot which
I agree with. I mean, this is to show how hard it is to cook with one hand!), this amazing woman takes care of her mentally challenged brother, including bathing him daily. MashaAllah. Despite the obvious hurdle, she goes to Ustazah’s classes regularly and ever gifted Ustazah several Rose syrup bottles (which is not light!)
All of these good deeds with only one hand.
When Ustazah talked to her, this mashaAllah woman said,
I can’t wait to die. I want to meet Allah.
Amazing 1 hand woman
To which Ustazah asked the audience…
#sentap #sampai #langit #ketujuh
So dear able-bodied people who have been blessed with 2 hands….What do we do with both our hands? Are we as ready to meet Allah?
With that, may we be grateful happy beings ❤
