My second favourite day of the entire recess week! (1st has got to be Friday <3) Finally, the day we’ve been waiting and training for. Ummi woke me up at 5am but it was raining heavily and I continued to lepak la what else. My north buddy Athirah reached earlier while I strolled along at 7am >< But we were just in time for the first wave for the 5km category as everything was delayed due to the rain. Alhamdulillah, that actually made the air fresh and cold! ❤
One thing that I wish to remember about that day has got to be the whole women vibes. First off, the train was filled with us women. Made me all hyped up by looking at the quantity and the spirit of us women. Then at the starting line, we were encouraged to say hi and give support to each other and that was fun! Once the run started, some casually walked while others started to jog and then run. Along the way, Athirah left me haha and that’s fine because there’s a sea of other women at the front, back, left and right! Felt very much at home actually. Some stopped to take photos LOL sempaaat. While others had their husbands cheering them on at the sidelines, waiting to capture their wives in action :’) aww. The last km was the hardest as I didn’t feel so well. But alhamdulillah…when I reached the end, it felt sooooo heartwarming and I honestly can’t wait for the next one (ceh mcm fhm) but really! So when I posted the picture on Instagram to share my happiness and to spark awareness, I’m glad some came forward to indicate interest for the next one. InshaAllah my ladies, till the next GEWR! Till then, let’s train consistently.
Oh, 1 tip from akak2 10km. They are working adults so there isn’t much time for them to run consistently. Hence they trained their core muscles weekly instead.
As I reflected on the awesome experience, I realised that along the way, our friends might run a longer route (Faizah and friend did 10km while Ezzah did 21.1km?! mashaAllah), some might move faster and leave us (no worries Athirah, totally not talking about you hahaha) and others might start later. It doesn’t matter how long we take as long as we keep moving. The most important and memorable part I feel was when we finally meet at the destination. Feeling safe, healthy and happy. If that’s the case, I can’t imagine a greater sense of fulfillment, happiness and safety for one to be able to gather with their loved ones at the end of the day in jannah ❤ Ahhhh~ goals!
Went back home and rested. Told tbh I rested already. But then I continued my sleep haha only to realise that I’m late for fatayat’s usrah! Thankfully it got delayed too. This was another piece of heaven on earth.

Main takeaway:
- Who we are in the future is determined by who we are now (talking about old age as Ustazah has and is dealing with usrah with makcik2)
- “This too shall pass” is such a good motivator in both good an bad moments. It serves to remind one to stay thankful for such fleeting, happy moments. Also a comfort to know that difficulty shall pass quickly too.
- Be selective. Choose what you want to do with your time wisely. For Ustazah, she says that with 4 kids now, she has no time to make mistakes, the same ones that is. One must be ready and always plan ahead on what’s next because 4 lives are her amanah now for her to shape. For us, make the best out of our life!
- Niat good things. Allah will guide us to it. Once we get the opportunity, ride on it, grab it. Go for it! (Ustazah’s confidence is inspirational mashaAllah)
Ended the day with an urgent inter-halaqah meeting for the upcoming Family Day. Alhamdulillah it was at Bedok. Also alhamdulillah for the ride home from Nadiah’s parents. Barakallahu feekum.
Oh, hello there Week 9 😥
nak pause time kalau boleh tapi tak boleh. This too shall pass huhu. Hang on there….
