Notice the last part where Prophet Dawud sought for the love of Allah above the love for cold water? I was wondering about the context of this and asked in some whatsapp groups. One of them said that it is in context to the situation of the people back then, when water was scarce in the desert.
Kak Zak then said, “but for Insyirah, can change cold water to bubbletea”
:’)))))
Anyway! There are 4 parts to this prayer which I absolutely feel so greatly for.
- Seeking for Allah’s Love (one of the ways is to…)
- Perform sunnah prayer:
- Follow the Prophet p.b.u.h:
Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” [3:31] - In return, everyone will love/accept you:
Yahya related to me from Malik from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih from his father from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “If Allah loves a slave, he says to Jibril, ‘I love so-and-so, so love him,’ so Jibril loves him and then calls out to the people of heaven, ‘Allah loves so-and-so, so love him,’ and the people of heaven love him, and then acceptance is placed in the Earth for him.” When Allah is angry with a slave, Malik said, “I consider that he says the like of that about His anger.”
- Seeking for the love of the lovers of Allah
- We will be gathered with those we love. So if we get a tinge of love from the lovers of Allah, that’s a higher chance to be at a better place right? huhu…
- Seeking for guidance to only do deeds which will make Allah love us
- Makes things clearer I feel. With limited time and energy, we hope that our efforts (or lack of) are those which actually bring us towards Him…
- Making our love for Allah greater than the love for ourselves, our family and things which we desire
- Such a hard thing to do honestly. Hence the more we need to pray for our hearts to be aligned to such #goals level of love.
Main point to remember is that, this prayer must come hand in hand with effort! #nts
