So thankful for the spiritual inputs tonight to end my #mabukmondays. Ya seriously felt so dizzy after back to back classes. It’s week 5 already and all 5 mods have group projects. So this is the period where each group project insists on meeting up. This too shall pass inshaAlah! 🙂
Anw, I am even more thankful for Munee and Hijan who stayed behind to accompany me ask Ustadz questions. Just like old times (missing kienah and Iman and Maisu and the list goes on….) I find Ustadz H more approachable than his brother although both are always so welcoming for students to ask questions. (May Allah bless them and bless their noble works!) My question was with regards to Quranic verses which seemed controversial on the surface. This was urgent as I will be having a Muslim Women Activism presentation this week hence I had to clarify certain verses.
Issues highlighted were:
- Faraidh – Men x2
- Hijab
- Witness – Women x2
- Men are in charge of women
I don’t know which causes a greater level of stress. The fact that I have undone slides and research or the reality of muslim women today. When one’s definition of equality strips off the essence of living by Allah’s rules, forcing equality over equity = one loses the concept of ‘adl itself. To put something at its place. You cannot push for the same roles in everything. Women and men are created differently. We are different. Mohon terima.
Ok dah byeeee. I should rest now.
