Was kind of bummed out that H did not come for today’s class hence no makan buddy AND balik buddy. But all is well as another H decided to take public transport instead of her usual grab. So we went back together (class to MRT je haha) and talked about Madrasah entrance test and of course whatever Ustaz just shared.
She reminded me how important istikharah is. How taaruf did not really expose everything and that she is going through a divorce due to all these – did not take heed of the istikharah signs and did not do a thorough research. I mean, we will never truly know someone until we live with them right? (Personal take: saling melengkapi and memahami inshaAllah. Ceh sis berbual macam faham but kheyr inshaAllah!)
My heart broke as she mentioned about Surah Nur verse 26. The verse where Allah promised that good men are for good women and vice versa.
She questioned on why did she receive such a spouse. According to her, she tried her best.
I used to firmly believe that good will only attract good. I mean, I still do! But my perspective evolved when I reflected on Surah Tahrim verse 11.
Saiyidah Asiah’s husband is the worst one can ever have as a HUSBAND. Someone who sees himself as God. But did that make Saiyidah Asiah any less of a good woman?
No.
Dear H, you are not a bad person. This is your test. And Allah knows you can handle it.
We reached the entrance of a bustling Bugis MRT. She hugged me tight and had the widest smile. A smile that hid her sorrow. A smile that touched the sides of her twinkling eyes as she talked about her toddler sons. I hope Allah grants your pure intentions of sending your sons to Irsyad.
“Doakan each other okay?” I whispered.

May Allah guide and ease all of our affairs.
