Story Time~

One thing I like about today is definitely all of you. I can’t describe how grateful I am for having a support system in school. I may not have a clingy best friend that goes everywhere in school with me. I don’t think I can keep up anyway (the one that you must eat talk study shop together everyday). In fact, I have always seen myself as a hi bye kind of person. Someone who sticks around when I have to. When there’s benefit for either party.  If I have something to settle with you, then I will spend time with you. Till the job’s done.

I have days when I spend so much time with project mates. It’s good because we get to exchange stories and ideas. Well, there are groups that I would rather go chop-chop with and get it done because I dislike their attitude. But there are also others. Who are just too kind and really precious like JR who always calls me “dear” and hugs me every time we meet. Or JQ and M who complimented on my pink hijab and said I looked friendlier. Or those who go out of their way to explain to me concepts and even check my laptop because yours truly is such a tech noob.

I have days that looked lonely. Days when I would just eat at the bustling food court by myself, mind my own thing and go for class straight. I would take casual walks in between classes to appreciate the greenery of Fort Canning or marvel at National Museums’s aesthetically pleasing exterior. Smiling by myself while at it as I recall events that occurred at/around those places. Of course these days include me trying to focus on getting things done. I would usually prop myself at the favourite window seat in the library overseeing the greenery and life around campus.

Finally, there are days where I get to spend time with all of you. Today’s adventure included a trip to Victory (beside zamzam) for our lunch and Moosh for dessert is such instance.

All of you – the ones I met in MS, prayer room…our intentions are different.

It’s been 3 years here and I still stick around these people despite how we often end up getting on each other’s nerves. (HAHA) I know why we stood by each other till today. Or at least, why I can still tolerate, need, love and look forward to seeing you. My reason for needing you transcends project deadlines. It’s an everlasting reason.
It’s for Him.
For Allah.

We’re bonded by His Deen. And I can’t be more grateful for all the sharings we had, congregations and um..really lame jokes. I might be the oldest in age (yes S, I’m your kakak please don’t be too shocked haha) and year (hahais) but you guys make me feel like a child. Taken care of, looked out for.

For that, I’m thankful.

I’ll continue to put in effort to cherish #mykeepers, #muffins, #friesbeforeguys and #EmpatEfficient (da jangan touched sangat kay especially S). InshaAllah.
