#siswee

Semalam aku keseorangan. Seperti hari-hari biasa, aku memaksa diri untuk memperuntukkan masa bagi diri sendiri. Antara nafkah yang terpenting berbentuk nafkah pada diri sendiri.

Sedang aku menyuap mac n cheese, hati terdetik, alangkah indahnya jika dapat teman untuk makan bersama.

Hari ini, ada yang mengajak melalui telegram group untuk lunch bersama.

Dengan senang hati, aku menurut.

Makanan halal agak terhad di sekolah. Antara pilihan yang boleh dikira “grab and go” adalah kedai nasi padang dan Pastamania. Baru-baru ini pula, 2 lagi kedai baru dibuka di koufu (food court) iaitu kedai kebab dan nasi ayam! Jadi kehadiran mac n cheese yang dijual oleh gerai OCSP (overseas community service project) sebagai usaha fundraising amat membuka selera.

Salah seorang dari kami bercadang untuk duduk di perkarangan T-Junction (T-Junc). Kalau ikutkan hati, memang tu tempat terakhirlah aku nak duduk santai-santai. Haha. (T-Junc yang terletak di basement adalah antara tempat yang agak sibuk. Penuh dengan mahasiswa dan orang awam dengan adanya cafe, bank, musolla dan exit menuju Bras Basah MRT. Lebih-lebih lagi jika hujan!)

Sedang kami duduk di tangga T-junc, 2 siswi jalan menuju kami. Aku melambai dan mengajak untuk duduk bersama.

Di perkarangan T-junc itu, 5 muslimah duduk bersila sambil menikmati mac n cheese. Lebih dari itu, kehadiran setiap seorang bukan sahaja telah mengisi kekosongan. Cerita-cerita mereka turut menghidupkan semangat dalam diri. A much needed catch up session gitu~

Nafkah pada diri dari segi makanan untuk fizikal dan sosial? Checked.

So that was my first draft which I edited, a quick write up after an experience. I’ll usually just leave for it to hibernate with all the other drafts which have yet to meet daylight. A habit that I need to refine further to actually include another step – publish the post.

So this blog community suggested by Tengku Syamil  gave me the push, to some extent, to actually complete a post. I mean, I write for myself, thus I did not find the need to actually publish my posts.

But publishing something allows for others to benefit and learn from one another (directly or not) and ultimately, it gives a sense of commitment to myself, hopefully! 🙂

Going back to my main point.

These ladies are a major part of my university experience. I never imagined gaining such wonderful friends turned sisters here. Alhamdulillah!

This brings me to an idea for a new category! I’ve been wanting to share my journey in this unique university that goes by the tagline “A different U”. I must say this tagline is quiet apt in my context as it has influenced me so much. Although I’m left with only a year here (inshaAllah), penning down experiences would make each day count instead of counting the days I’m left with. Sobs. Here’s my inspiration: The Happy Smudent who not only articulates honest posts but is also helpful in her sharing.

So here goes the new category #siswee! which is a combination of siswi (lady undergrad in Malay) + Swee (beautiful in hokkien). Beautiful here refers to the journey obviously.
