I may have complained so much of today
I may have deliberately move without pause
I may have took but the surface of things
Yet You still came
as gently
as kind
as ever forgiving
teaching me through those who are heroes without
seeking nothing but You
As I enter the sanctuary
my eyes rested upon them
ever diligent, working with smiles, folding and arranging
the clothing of Taqwa
contributing time
fi sabilillah
Today was beautiful.
I was pleasantly surprised when a dear friend came over
to ensure she paid the money owed
the steps she took to preserve the rights of another
may it be blessed
be emulated by others
and that little thoughtful note to press on
jabbed me hard
pulled me together
Today was beautiful.
Because
Despite nothing and everything
serenity comes when we
seek Him
Oh Allah, forgive me whenever I whine.
