Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah.
Alhamdulillah for the opportunity to be able to attend a formal, classroom setting workshop that actually involves a trainer for one to directly ask questions. Before this, I relied heavily on Google and YouTube on how to use Adobe Illustrator as I embark the Journey of A Graphic Designer Apprentice.
I have always admired graphic designs that are reflected on posters, invitation cards or even blog templates! It amazes me how ideas can be translated easily on screen/paper, in fact, any other form of art!
I used to play around with codes back when I was around 13 years old. During that time, I believe, was the trend for one to have the newest blogskin and the fanciest design apart from a lengthy ‘What I Did In School Post’. Over the years, I observe that simplicity is the new trend while fancy backgrounds toned down a bit.
Coming back to the original idea, I am unduly grateful to have attended Kak Nisa’s class the other day at MKS. It undeniably opened doors of hope for me that no idea is petty and that *Quote* Every design is a masterpiece *Unquote*
It also widened my limited knowledge of Illustrator, as well as useful tips and tricks, dos and don’ts to designing, first hand. Truly humbled by this experience as MashaAllah, SubhanaAllah, Allah has taught mankind with such a handy tool!
I am still far from being able to design templates and such. Well, as you can see, attached on this post is a practice done by yours truly for the upcoming Usrah! It is certainly not the official poster of the upcoming event, however, the information is legit. I am attending inshaAllah. Fathona, Iman, and whoever that is reading this, Let’s? 🙂
My fellow Southeast Mosque Cluster sisters created beautiful posters of their own for this Usrah and I pray this excitement and empowerment will continue to burn on as we give back to society for they have helped sponsor our Adobe Workshop.
May Allah help us in using the tools and knowledge that we have in the path of Islaam.
Ramadhan Kareem!
~I especially loved the part where I get to edit Fatayat’s logo. It used to spell Kampung with an “O” instead.
