حور

Today I would like to share something I gained from Mufti’s talk a few weeks ((months eh.)) ago.

Mufti was an invited speaker for that particular session under a series of talks called “Kembara bersama Al-Quran” . This series is really inspiring such that the scholars describe the beauty of Al-Quran through its history, tafsir, language while highlighting certain information that laymen like me might have missed or clearly have no knowledge of.

It is inspiring and enlightening revelation for myself personally as it fills a yearning inside me. It ignites passion to study the Quran deeper. It enlightens me on this path of seeking knowledge. Above all, it makes me even more confused of the choices and interests I want to pursue after A-Levels.

What I want to share is really simple. This sharing is dedicated to all readers and khususan, especially, to a friend called Haura. 🙂

The topic discussed, few weeks back was, “Satu Pengenalan Sejarah, Menurut Perspektif Wahyu”. Basically, Mufti connected History with what was revealed in The Quran.

One thing I remembered distinctively was the usage of the word “haura”. Haura here means, keputihan yang amat sangat. Reaaallllyy white. As stated in the Quran, Chapter 55, verse 72, The Fair ones.

Going back in history, Mufti connects the term Hawaariyun as “those whose hearts are pure”. Both come from the same root word, “حور” . If we recall correctly, the term Hawaariyun is used to describe the companions of Prophet Isa a.s. (or the 12 disciples as known by the Christians. )

ok.

I apologise if this post is too short and does not do justice for the time I spent preparing for it. Yup, it spent several months snugly hibernating in my list of drafts. Even so, I thought that I still had to post this as I find it interesting that the term Haura means so delicately whole. It refers to bidadari/princess in Chapter 55 of The Quran and on another level, propagates Purity inside out. Like those companions of Prophet Isa a.s whose hearts were pure. Always supporting him, always by his side. MashaAllah.

Purity itself can be hardly grasp and internalised by modern people. To physically guard one’s modesty is one thing while guarding the purity of our thoughts, actions and hearts is a whole new level altogether. On top of that, I think it is important to emulate the the terms Hawaariyun and Haura. Beautiful will the world be, when individuals strive for Haura and support the Dakwah of our prophets just like how the Hawaariyun supported their prophet. (Jumhur/majority of the Ulama concluded that hawaariyun were those who believed).

Wallahu’alam.
